Miguel Tabuena will go for his second straight Philippine Open title and third overall when the 101st edition of country’s premier golf championship tees off at The Country Club on April 3 to 6.
Tabuena nipped Prom Meesawat of Thailand in sudden death also at TCC last year. He first won in 2015 at Luisita.
The Tom Weiskoph-designed layout is all set for the big event sponsored by Solaire Resort.
“More than 50 percent of the field which vied last year will all be coming again along with new, crack international players,” said Colo Ventosa, general manager of Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., which co-organizes the event with the National Golf Association of the Philippines.
Before vying in the Open, Tabuena will compete at the 100th New Zealand Open which gets under way this Thursday.
