Jordan Clarkson is just like every other Filipino basketball fan.
The Cleveland Cavaliers guard also hopes to suit up for the Philippines in the 2019 Fiba World Cup, which would be a dream come true for Filipinos.
“Congrats to my bros and the country such a honor for the country, qualifying for the world cup, so hyped!!! hope to see you guys in china!!!” he said in an Instagram post.
Clarkson had already represented the country in the 2018 Asian Games where Gilas Pilipinas finished fifth
Playing in the World Cup, however, is easier said than done with Fiba’s strict eligibility rules.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas’ aim is for Clarkson to be cleared by Fiba to play as a local that will allow Gilas to play him alongside naturalized big man Andray Blatche.
For now, Filipinos can just wait and see.
