With Stalzer back, F2 Logistics stays unbeaten

04:58 AM February 27, 2019

F2 Logistics was doing great without star Lindsay Stalzer. Now that she’s here, the Cargo Movers look sharper than ever.

Stalzer debuted in style for F2 Logistics, which shrugged off an early hiccup to turn back United VC, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22, on Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The 30-year-old Stalzer showed why she was worth the wait for the Cargo Movers, who remained on an unbeaten course in the tournament.

“If Lindsay wasn’t here, we would have probably lost, 3-0,” said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus, whose wards picked up their third win in as many starts.

That assessment may not be a stretch, even with the Cargo Movers holding fort in the first two games while Stalzer fulfilled club commitments in Indonesia.

Stalzer fired 25 kills and five blocks to finish with 30 points in a game that was close in all four sets. Becky Perry chipped in 16 points for the Cargo Movers.

Stalzer and Perry stepped up against a spirited fight put up by UVC, which leaned on US NCAA Division I standouts Filipino-Americans Kalei Mau and Alohi Robins-Hardy as well as imports Tai Manu-Olevao and Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani.

“UVC is really a strong team that is only starting to know each other,” said De Jesus. “Stalzer had practiced with us only twice, but she’s really a great leader inside the court.”

PLDT Home Fibr ripped Foton, 25-16, 25-20, 25-17, in the second game.
