The best and the brightest in Philippine Sports for the past year were once again recognized in the 2019 Philippine Sportswriters Association awards night at Manila Hotel on Tuesday.

Power is female is the prevailing theme of this year’s gala with women athletes blazing the trail after an eventful year in sports highlighted by the Asian Games competition.

Gold medalists from the Asian Games, all women, were named Athletes of the Year.
