PBA D-League: Batangas-EAC manhandles McDavid

MANILA, Philippines–Batangas-EAC handily beat McDavid, 79-57, for its first win in the 2019 PBA D-League Thursday at Ynares Arena.

After a blazing 12-0 start, the Generals never looked back to recover from their first game loss and send McDavid to 0-2 so far.

“Maybe we’re just lucky that McDavid didn’t play well. But I’m happy for the guys especially those last five who made a good impact,” said Batangas-EAC coach Oliver Bunyi.

Earvin Mendoza led the charge for Batangas-EAC with 25 points, three assists and two rebounds.

Clark Derige contributed 16 points and four rebounds, while Allan Martin added 11 points, four dimes, and three boards.

McDavid managed to pull within 54-48 with nine minutes to go, but Mendoza and Derige were there to spark a 25-9 blast to push the lead back to 22 and seal the outcome.
