MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas star sophomore had to be stretchered off the floor after suffering a knee injury in the Golden Tigresses’ match against Far Eastern University Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Alessandrini had an awkward fall that led her to twist her left knee in what is initially deemed as an MCL injury.
UST held an 18-17 lead in the second set when Alessandrini got hurt.
Alessandrini headed into the game as the sixth-best scorer in terms of total points in the league with 47 points.
It was a tough blow for UST and Alessandrini, who missed a chunk of last season due to a right shoulder injury.
