MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas star sophomore Milena Alessandirini may have suffered a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee against Far Eastern University on Saturday, initial diagnosis say.

Golden Tigresses head coach Kung Fu Reyes said Alessandrini’s final MRI results will be known on Monday, but the initial assessment is a partially torn ACL.

Alessandrini, Season 80’s Rookie of the Year, twisted her left knee after a bad landing on a spike attempt in the second set with UST leading, 18-17.

The Filipino-Italian outside spiker had to be stretchered off the playing floor then, was rushed to UST Hospital.

It was a tough blow for the Golden Tigresses as they went on to lose in four sets to the Lady Tamaraws that brought their record down to 2-2.

Alessandrini headed into the FEU match as the sixth-best scorer in the tournament with a total of 47 points.
