Karting champions Gabriel Tayao Cabrera and Raymond Cudala surpassed expectations in the recent SQ International Cup held at the Carmona Race Track in Cavite.
Cabrera won the Cadet Novice championship and clocked a record time of 52.73 at the qualifying time trials for the SQ Cadet category, besting his upper class counterparts in the Expert division.
The 12-year-old Cabrera broke the 52.8 record set by Cudala during his stint in the Cadet class last year.
Cabrera credits racing buddy Cudala and the latter’s father Bong Cudala for his exceptional showing in the SQ International Cup.
Cudala, on the other hand, placed runner-up in his SQ Novice debut. The 13-year-old posted a 1:00.541 best time at the qualifying time trials and eventually moved up from 12th to 5th overall in the 1st qualifying heat.
Cabrera and Cudala are students of Makati Hope Christian School and Elizabeth Seton School.
Supporter and Trans Show veteran Robert Santos of Radiant Systems and Buendia Color Paint Center is ecstatic over the stellar performance of the boys, who are also being supported by Seaoil.
