UAAP softball: Adamson goes 7-0 after rout of UST

Defending champions Adamson University dominated University of Santo Tomas, 7-1, to hike its winning streak to seven games in the in the UAAP Season 81 softball tournament Friday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The Lady Falcons yielded a run for the second time this season but it hardly made a difference as they continued their perfect run so far in the tournament.

Meanwhile, De La Salle blanked rival Ateneo, 3-0, to seize solo third at 5-3, half-a-game behind idle National University (5-2) in the race for the twice-to-beat semifinals incentive.

University of the Philippines fashioned out a 12-5 win over University of the East. The Lady Maroons moved in a tie with the Tigresses in fourth spot at 4-4.

In baseball, Ateneo overpowered UP, 23-6, to raise its record to a league-best 5-1.

De La Salle beat titleholder Adamson University, 6-5, for the second time in a row, while UST bested NU, 9-4.

The Green Batters and the Growling Tigers remained level in second place at 4-2, while the Falcons dropped to 3-3.
