Jomary Torres remains motivated despite taking her third straight loss on Friday in ONE: Reign of Valor.
Torres’ woes continued after a first round loss to Lin Heqin of China, but she is staying patient and forward-looking amid another disappointment.
“After this, I have no choice but to train hard, so in the next bouts I’ll have a chance to win,” said Torres, who rued her lack of focus in the match.
“Now, there’s a lot of things on my mind, and that’s why I wasn’t really focused. But that’s not an excuse. I need to refocus.”
The 22-year-old Torres was eager to end her slump but Lin clearly had other plans in mind.
Lin submitted Torres late in the first round with a triangle choke for a triumphant ONE debut.
Torres began her MMA career with four straight victories and she hopes to get back to her winning ways.
“I’m still gonna train hard. I know that I still have a lot of shortcomings in all of it, striking, grappling and jiu-jitsu,” she said.
“The loss once again showed me the things that I need to work on moving forward.”
