MANILA, Philippines– Ateneo encountered turbulent second set but still got enough steadiness in beating Adamson, 25-8, 22-25, 25-16, 25-10, to stretch its winning run to five Wednesday in the UAAP women’s volleyball at FIlOil Flying V Center.
The Lady Eagles have been unbeaten since losing their opening match and are now in solo top spot with a 5-1 record while inflicting the Lady Falcons their fifth defeat in six games.
After losing the opening set, Adamson took advantage of Ateneo complacency to snatch the frame on account of having 15 attacks against eight by the Lady Eagles.
But Ateneo struck back hard and rained down 13 aces on Adamson which threw off the Lady Falcons’ first ball and spelled the difference in the match.
