Louie Alas, Caloy Garcia set to coach PBA All-Star teams for first time

Phoenix’s Louie Alas and Rain or Shine’s Caloy Garcia will be the head coaches for this year’s PBA All-Star Game in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Alas and Garcia will be calling the shots for the North and South All-Stars, respectively after the Fuel Masters and Elasto Painters finished first and second in the standings at the end of the March 10 cutoff.

It will be Alas and Garcia’s first time to be All-Star Game head coaches.

The North squad is composed of Phoenix’s Calvin Abueva and Jayson Perkins, Barangay Ginebra’s LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar and Mark Caguioa, TNT’s Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario, Magnolia’s Paul Lee and Marc Pingris, San Miguel Beer’s Arwind Santos, Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter, NorthPort’s Stanley Pringle, Alaska’s Chris Banchero, Rain or Shine’s Gabe Norwood.

The South team, meanwhile, is made up of San Miguel Beer’s June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross and Terrence Romeo, Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson, Greg Slaughter and Joe Devance, Magnolia’s Mark Barroca, Jio Jalalon and PJ Simon, Rain or Shine’s James Yap, Blackwater’s Mac Belo, Meralco’s Baser Amer, NLEX’s John Paul Erram and TNT’s Roger Pogoy.
