UAAP men’s volleyball: FEU sweeps first round; NU comes in 2nd
MANILA, Philippines—Far Eastern University achieved first round perfection after making quick work of De La Salle, 25-21, 25-20, 25-18, in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament Saturday at Filoil Flying V Center.
The Tamaraws stayed unscathed at 7-0 after the first round of action while the Green Spikers remained at sixth at 2-5.
John Paul Bugaoan had 16 points to lead the Tamaraws while Jude Garcia added 12.
In the other match, defending champion National University manhandled Ateneo, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16, to get within striking distance of FEU.
The Bulldogs are just half-a-game behind FEU with a 6-1 card at the second seed while the third-seeded Blue Eagles dropped to 4-3.
Bryan Bagunas led NU with 20 points while Angelo Alemndras put up 11.
