Adamson battles UP, eyes softball sweep
MANILA, Philippines—Adamson tries to keep its lofty softball status as the Lady Falcons shoot for an outright championship with a 10-game elimination sweep in the UAAP Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Lady Falcons, who have won 10 softball crowns in the last 14 seasons, aim to wrap up their remarkable run against UP at 11:30 a.m.
“I’m not saying that we can easily do it,” said Adamson coach Ana Santiago, who has on tap several members of the Philippine Blu Girls team that captured the softball gold in the 2011 Southeast Asian Games.
“UP is strong with their pitcher and hitter,” Santiago said of the Lady Maroons, who are running second with a 7-2 record. “We have to stay focused if we want to win.”
