Iron Man: LA Tenorio sets PBA record with 597 consecutive games played

Barangay Ginebra guard LA Tenorio set the PBA record after appearing in his 597th straight game on Sunday in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 34-year-old Tenorio surpassed PBA legend Alvin Patrimonio for the most number of consecutive games played.

Making things more interesting is Tenorio achieved the feat against Patrimonio and the Magnolia Hotshots.

Patrimonio, who now serves as Magnolia’s team manager, played all of his 16 PBA seasons for the Purefoods franchise.

Tenorio has never missed a game since being drafted as the fourth overall pick by the San Miguel Beermen in 2006.
