UFL: Stallion tests Green Archers

MANILA, Philippines—Stallion Giligan’s tries to regain top spot when it clashes against winless Green Archers United Saturday in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Victory in the 4 p.m. match will put the unbeaten Stallion side at 13 points ahead of Loyola Meralco, which has 12 from five matches.

Green Archers United is looking to end its struggles that saw them earn just one point from their first four matches.

Some of the first division clubs are actually taking a break from the action this weekend as most of its standouts are with the national team training in the Middle East for the AFC Challenge Cup.

Second division leader Pachanga takes on Cebu Queen City United in the 2 p.m. tussle which will also be aired live by AKTV on IBC 13.

Stallion is seeking to rebound from a draw against Pasargad, marking the first time they dropped points this season, after stirring wins against Loyola (4-1), Air Force (4-1) and Navy (6-0).

Lee Joo Young, the league’s top scorer with six goals, will again lead the attack line for Stallion, which will miss captain Ruben Doctora, who was recalled to the national team.
