PBA D-League: Chabi Yo helps UST stay unbeaten at 4-0
MANILA, Philippines—Soulemane Chabi Yo was a man among boys and University of Santo Tomas proved unbeatable so far after claiming its latest victim Go for Gold-College of St. Benilde, 94-82, in the 2019 PBA D-League Tuesday at Paco Arena in Manila.
Chabi Yo was an unstoppable force with 32 points and 25 rebounds with two steals and two blocks to boot to power the Growling Tigers, who recovered from a slow start.
The Beninese big man hardly missed as he went 11-of-13 from the field.
“We started flat, buti fortunately for us, our second stringers helped us,” said UST coach Aldin Ayo, whose squad faced a 14-2 deficit early, in Filipino.
The Tigers rolled to 4-0 as they continue to pace the Aspirants Group in the standings.
Sherwin Concepcion contributed 13 points and 19 rebounds for UST.
The Blazers, who fell to 1-3, drew 29 points and 11 rebounds from Justin Gutang.
