‘Biggest ever’ Manila SEA Games

All 15 departments of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) are going full throttle to ensure the smooth staging of what the country says would be “the biggest SEA Games ever.”

Phisgoc chair Alan Peter Cayetano said on Saturday said they are ahead in schedule in terms of construction of the main stadium in New Clark City in Tarlac.

“We will show the world that we are a five-star hosting power,” said Cayetano during a conference in Taguig City. “We will show them that we are ready to host big events [like the SEA Games and] perhaps, the Asian Games 10 years from now.”

A P5-billion budget ($95 million) has been earmarked for the biennial Games.
