After setting up a nutrition hall at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex two weeks ago, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) opened another one to serve national athletes residing inside the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City.

“Our athletes deserve to be given the best nutrition possible for them to perform at their best,” said PSC Chair Butch Ramirez.

The PSC Nutrition Unit has assessed the nutrition requirements and biometrics registration of over 1,000 athletes from various sports and will soon provide a specific diet for everyone.

Philippine Sports Institute national training director Marc Edward Velasco said it would eventually serve all the athletes under the national team once improvements have been made.

Para-athletes from cycling and dragonboat were among the first diners of the nutrition hall at PhilSports on Monday.
