MANILA, Philippines—University of Santo Tomas found alternate weapons in Caitlyn Viray and Dimdim Pacres to crush Adamson, 25-15, 25-12, 25-16, Wednesday to register is sixth win the UAAP women’s volleyball at FilOil Flying V Center.
Learning from their previous defeat when they clung on to only Sis Rondina and rookie Eya Laure, the Tigresses employed the two lefty hitters who totally threw off the Lady Falcons rhythm.
The win allowed UST to break free from a four-team gridlock at second place (6-3) and also redeemed itself from a stinging defeat to Ateneo in match where they wasted two sets to none, and 25-24 lead.
Middle blocker Viray scored 13 points, while outside hitter Pacres turned in 12 markers to help up in scoring. Rondina finished with 10 points, while Laure had 17.
Adamson fell to 1-8.
