MANILA, Philippines–Ginebra continued to roll ahead of the playoffs, dumping Meralco, 88-76, for a fourth straight victory in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday.
Playing with a playoff spot already locked up, the Gin Kings still refused to ease on the gas pedal and pulled away in the second half to doom Meralco, which is already out of quarterfinal contention.
Ginebra is already assured of the no. 3 slot in the next round even with a meeting against NorthPort, a team in search of a playoff spot, still in its schedule.
Four players wound up in double digits for the Gin Kings with Greg Slaughter leading the way with 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Bolts, who crashed to 3-8, ended their conference on a three-game losing skid.
The league takes a break to make way for the annual PBA All-Star weekend in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
