Petron eyes 13th straight win

Petron guns for win No. 13 against a struggling Sta. Lucia Realty even as PLDT and United VC clash to get closer to a twice-to-beat bonus on Thursday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at Filoil Flying V Centre.

There’s hardly any incentive for the Blaze Spikers in the 2 p.m. match against the Lady Realtors, but coach Shaq delos Santos said they’re not about to let their guards down.

“Everyone wants to beat us at this point, but we will use these remaining games to work on our game,” said Delos Santos.

Petron is unbeaten so far and is already assured of a quarterfinal bonus. That’s not the case for PLDT and UVC, which will have to dispute the two remaining bonus spots with Cignal HD.

“PLDT is a hungry team,” said UVC coach Joshua Ylaya of the 12 noon game. —MARC ANTHONY REYES
