UAAP volleyball: La Salle gets back at UST for solo no. 2
MANILA, Philippines–Three-time defending champion La Salle exacted revenge over University of Santo Tomas after a 21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 26-24, win Sunday night to move solo second place in the UAAP women’s volleyball at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Desiree Cheng scored a career-best 20 points, while Aduke Ogunsanya rose to the occasion with 12 points for the Lady Spikers who picked up their seventh win in 10 matches, just behind the idle leader Ateneo Lady Eagles.
Article continues after this advertisementIt was a tight match that saw La Salle fighting off UST’s big guns Sisi Rondina and Eya Laure with sheer patience and teamwork to deal the Tigresses’ fourth defeat in 10 games.
La Salle also scored its second straight win and redeemed itself from a straights-set defeat at the hands of UST in the first round.
Laure fired 21 points, while Rondina had 19.
