Patrombon leads off Davis Cup tie against Thais

Jeson Patrombon will open up for the Philippines in its Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group 2 tie with formidable Thailand starting Friday in Nonthaburi.

Patrombon will take on Palaphoom Kovapitukted in the first of the opening singles, while Alberto Lim clashes with Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul in the second.

Venue is the outdoor hard courts of National Tennis Development Center.

Francis Casey Alcantara and Jurence Zosimo Mendoza will face twins Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana in the doubles on Saturday.

The reverse singles will also be played on Saturday with Patrombon squaring off with Trongcharoenchaikul, and Lim against Kovapitukted.

The Filipinos have lost to the Thais two years in a row, dropping a 4-1 decision last year at Philippine Columbian Association, which came after being swept the year before in Thailand.
