John Chicano showed his readiness for the 30th Southeast Asian Games by ruling the male elite division of the Tri-Factor Asian Series national duathlon championships held in Clark over the weekend.
The 27-year-old Chicano, triathlon runner-up to Nikko Huelgas in the 2017 KL Games, led all the way to rule the standard 10-kilometer run, 40-km bike, 5-km run event in one hour, 58 minutes and 24 seconds.
Emmanuel Comendador was second in 1:59:21 with Singapore’s Mien Mau Lim finishing third in 1:59:33.
Another Singaporean, Phoebe Kee, ruled the women’s side in 2:20:05, beating Jelsie Sabado (2:22:15).
