NU continues winning run, FEU dumps UE

MANILA, Philippines—National University bumped its winning streak to 10 games after making quick work of De La Salle, 25-20, 25021, 25-16, in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bryan Bagunas fired 23 points to lead the Bulldogs, who they stayed atop the standings with a 10-1 record while the Green Archers dropped to 4-7 and are one loss away from elimination.

Angelo Almendras played deputy for NU with 11 points while James Natividad had nine.

In the second game, Far Eastern University scored its own sweep after brushing off University of the East, 25-18, 25-19, 25-12.

The Tamaraws improved to a 9-2 record for the second seed while the Red Warriors are the inverse at 2-9 for the No. 7 spot.

Jude Garcia had 11 points to lead FEU while John Bugaoan had 10.
