CEU stays unbeaten; McDavid finally triumphs

Centro Escolar University made quick work of CD14 Designs-Trinity University of Asia, scoring a 93-69 blowout to extend its unbeaten run to five in the PBA D-League on Monday at JCSGO Gym.

Maodo Malick Diouf powered the Scorpions, who took an early 31-15 lead they extended to 28, 45-17, midway through the second period.

The Senegalese big man pumped in 27 points that went with 18 rebounds, and four blocks in the dominant win.

The locals also chipped in their share to help CEU grab a lead as high as 30, 90-60, in the fourth frame.

Jan Formento came off the bench to score 17 points, making all but two of eight attempts, as Judel Fuentes and Pierce Chan had 13 each.

Meanwhile, McDavid finally won one after posting 73-68 squeaker over Family Mart-Enderun.

Michole Sorela waxed hot early, shooting 19 of his 22 points in the first half for McDavid, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Janus Lozada chipped in 14 points and three boards, as Rev Diputado got five of his 12 in the fourth, where he sealed the game shut after Family Mart-Enderun threatened within two, 70-68, in the last 2:04.

Valandre Chauca carried the Titans with a near triple-double of 17 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, but missed two crucial buckets in the clutch and also committed a costly turnover when Jerick Canada stole his pass with 10 seconds remaining.
