MANILA, Philippines—Aby Maraño is keeping her positive spirit alive and proudly showed the patches that the skin disease psoriasis has left on her.
In a Facebook post, the F2 Logistics blocker also showed support to the people who are also suffering from the same disease.
“Showing my patches like they aren’t a damn thing anymore,” said Maraño in her post. “I know that most psoriasis patients don’t have the courage to show their skin. I heard some stopped going to school and some don’t even leave the house.”

“Sad I know. There are times that I feel uncomfortable too but my confidence is higher than my insecurities.”
Maraño first admitted about her condition in March and has since worn the marks on her skin like badges of honor.
The national team blocker added that psoriasis is not contagious and she encouraged everyone to support those who are suffering from the same condition.

“We’re not contagious, and this isn’t a curse,” said Maraño in Filipino. “Everyday’s a battle and I got to fight because if I don’t I might just stop playing. Simple psoriasis might lead to psoriatic arthritis that may really affect my condition in playing and I don’t want that to happen.”
“So if you know someone who has psoriasis like me, hug them. They are not contagious. The only thing contagious is kindness. I am Aby Maraño, I have psoriasis but psoriasis don’t have me.”
