UAAP men’s volleyball: Ateneo, Adamson turn back foes for 4th place tie

MANILA, Philippines—Ateneo and Adamson held up their fourth place tie in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball tournament after turning back their respective foes Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Soaring Falcons claimed their fifth straight win after beating De La Salle in four sets, 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19 to get to a 9-4 record.

The Blue Eagles, meanwhile, dropped University of the East, 25-20, 25-12, 27-29, 25-15.

Paolo Pablico had 18 points for Adamson while Archie Dela Cruz and George Labang Jr. had 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Antony Koyfman led the Blue Eagles with 17 points with Ron Medalla and Gian Glorioso combining for 23 points to play support.

Defending champion National University still leads the table at 10-1 with last year’s runner-up Far Eastern University at second with a 9-2 record.
