Power Hitters thwart Lifesavers, make semis

PLDT Home Fibr relied on defense to turn back Generika-Ayala, 25-15, 25-20, 24-26, 25-27, 15-12, Saturday night to clinch the last semifinals spot in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at FilOil Flying V Centre.
PLDT imports Grace Lazard and Kendra Dahlke swatted away charge after charge of the Generika-Ayala offensive to preserve the victory and move to the next round on its second try.
The Power Hitters thus booked a best-of-three Final Four place against former champions F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
Dahlke also scored 33 kills and four blocks to finish with 37 points while Lazard chipped in 17 kills and seven blocks for PLDT, which had to weaponize its twice-to-beat edge after losing to the Lifesavers last Thursday. —MARC ANTHONY REYES
