MANILA, Philippines–Franky Johnson and Joshua Munzon teamed up to lift AMA Online Education over Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College, 122-119, in double overtime in the 2019 PBA D-League Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Munzon fired 38 points on top of 16 rebounds and seven assists and six steals while Johnson added 37, including his team’s last nine points, four assists and four steals as the Titans stopped a three-game slide.
“The players showed composure and I told them we’re already here so we need to win this game. We have to show our heart and fight for our team,” said AMA coach Mark Herrera in Filipino after his squad improved to 2-3.
In the other game, Go for Gold-College of St. Benilde beat Che’Lu Bar and Grill, 101-92, for its second straight win.
Roosevelt Adams posted a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds while Justin Gutang tallied 20 points for the Scratchers, who evened their win-loss record to 3-3.
