PSC, US sports academy sign coaching, management deal
Filipino sports officials will now have access to world-class management and mentoring after the Philippine Sports Commission forged a partnership with the United States Sports Academy (USSA), which will offer international certificate programs on sports management and coaching.
PSC Chair Butch Ramirez and USSA president and CEO Dr. Thomas J. Rosandich on Tuesday signed the memorandum of agreement designed to teach these courses to 50 participants each.
“Our real goal is to reconcile theory and practice. When we talk about conditioning for example, we will also access the weight room so we can show the proper techniques,” Rosandich told the Inquirer.

Professor Henry Daut, the Philippine Sports Institute deputy national training director, said the program for international certificates would begin in August at PhilSports in Pasig City.
Daut said the students from coaching and physical education would come from the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education and local government units.
