MANILA, Philippines—The PBA on Tuesday continued to mete out necessary fines in the ongoing Philippine Cup semifinals.
Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia took the heaviest blow after he was fined P22,400 for physically contacting a referee and for picking up his third technical this conference in Monday night’s Game 4 against Magnolia.
Garcia got ejected with 1:43 remaining in the third quarter of the Hotshots’ 94-91 win that tied the best-of-seven series at 2-2.
Elasto Painters veterans Beau Belga and Gabe Norwood were also fined.
Belga was fined P3,400 after getting called for his fourth technical this conference while Norwood was fined P1,000 for pointing an accusing finger at a referee.
Phoenix’s Calvin Abueva and Matthew Wright were also punished for their antics in the Fuel Masters’ 92-90 win over San Miguel Beer in Game 3 on Sunday.
Wright was fined P5,000 for his flagrant foul penalty 1 while Abueva was fined P3,400 after picking up a technical foul, his fourth technical this conference.
Beermen forward Arwind Santos was also meted with a P1,000 fine for second motion.
