UAAP volleyball: La Salle cruises past UE, nears twice to beat edge

MANILA, Philippines– La Salle scored a 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 blow out over University of the East Wednesday to assure itself of at least a playoff for the twice-to-beat gem in the UAAP women’s volleyball at FilOil Flying V Center.
The three-time defending champions made it swift and cold in thrashing the already eliminated Lady Warriors, making sure they are in good position for the Final Four with a 10-3 record.
Now La Salle has to beat its last assignment on Sunday — against last year’s final contender Far Eastern University — to nail the seminal shield against closest pursuer University of Santo Tomas.
The Lady Warriors fell to 3-10 and will face Ateneo for their last eliminations assignment.
