Korean catches Mondilla on top

STA. ROSA, Laguna–South Korean teenager Kim Joo-hyung fired a one-under-par 71 on Wednesday to grab a share of The Country Club Invitational lead with Clyde Mondilla after another humid and demanding day at the windswept layout here.

The leaderboard changed so many times in the second round, with Mondilla failing to cling to the lead on his own after signing for a double bogey 6 on the 16th that put a blackeye on his 73 for 146 like Kim.

Angelo Que, a three-time champion like Juvic Pagunsan, also stumbled with bogeys in his last three holes for a 75 even as first round leader Jessie Balasabas shot a 76 after holing out with a double on the 18th.

The duo will be opening the third round two shots behind Kim and Mondilla.

Pagunsan shot a 73 and will go into the final two rounds just four down.
