Philippine Air Force and Green Archers make their return to top-flight football as the Philippine Premier League kicks off on Saturday at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Bannered by former stars of the national team, including Yanti Barsales, the Airmen clash with reigning Paulino Alcantara Cup winner Kaya Iloilo at 7:15 p.m.
Green Archers, parading a slew of new faces, tests Mendiola at 4 p.m.
Ceres-Negros, the two-time Philippines Football League titliist, drew an opening-day bye as the Busmen prepare for their AFC Cup match against Shan United on Wednesday in Yangon.

The PPL is still hoping to get confirmation from Stallion Laguna and Global Makati to complete the league’s seven-team cast.
Air Force coach Leo Jaena promised a strong challenge from his squad which will be led by national team legend Yanti Barsales.
“Expect a never-say-die performance from Air Force,” said Jaena.
Kaya midfielder Arnel Amita is relishing the challenge playing against some of his favorite players growing up.
“We can’t underestimate Air Force,” said Amita, the former Far Eastern U star. “Some of the players in their team we idolized when we started playing. We will definitely give 100 percent.”
