STA. ROSA, Laguna—Kim Joo-hyung outdueled Keanu Jahns in another nerve-wracking finish at The Country Club Invitational here Friday, using a two-shot swing on the 16th hole to carve out a one-stroke victory in record-setting fashion.
Tied with Jahns at one-over overall with three holes left, Kim hit a solid drive and a superb approach on 16, drilling a birdie from close as Jahns muffed his par-putt bid from six feet.
Not even a closing bogey on the tough 18th could spoil Kim’s day in the premier event also known as the Razon Cup. The young Korean finished with a 74 for a 290 worth P1.5 million.
Kim also became the youngest winner of the tournament at 16.
The 22-year-old Jahns closed out with a second straight 71 for second at 291, still his best finish in six years worth P700,000.
