MANILA, Philippines—Adamson University ended its campaign in the most emphatic way, snapping its nine-game losing skid at the expense of University of the Philippines, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19, in the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament Saturday at Filoil Flying V Center.

The Lady Falcons ended their season at 2-12 for the eighth spot while the Lady Maroons finished their campaign on a four-game losing streak and settled for the fifth spot in the ladder at 6-8.

It was a virtual beating for much of the third set with the Lady Falcons assuming command midway through the frame with a 16-10 lead courtesy of Eli Soyud’s crosscourt kill.

Bernadette Flora then gave Adamson a 21-16 lead with a smooth over the block kill before Joy Dacoron ended the affair with a running spike that sunk UP’s heart.

“I’m really happy because at last the system was followed and it was up to the dot,” said Adamson head coach Rogelio Getigan in Filipino. “Everybody stepped up even the rookies gave us some points.”

Chiara Permentilla led Adamson’s offense with 16 points while graduating players Dacoron and Eli Soyud had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Flora also had 10 points for the Lady Falcons.

Diana Carlos led UP with 13 points with Isa Molde pitching in 10.
