F2 shoots for clincher

/ 05:04 AM May 02, 2019

F2 Logistics snapped Petron’s 17-game winning run in the PSL Grand Prix on Tuesday night for first strike in their best-of-three series for the championship.

Coach Ramil de Jesus had just one question after that: “Can we sustain this?”

He also put a thrilling 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 25-23 win two nights ago into perspective: “We know this (Game 1 win) is worthless if we don’t finish the job.”

The Cargo Movers have two shots to complete their job, starting at 7 p.m. Thursday at FilOil Flying V Centre as the Blaze Spikers will come into the match claiming that all pressure in sweeping the tournament is now off and that they can focus on the goal they set out to do right from the start—win it all.

“There is no distraction (of sweeping the tournament) this time,” said Shaq Delos Reyes, the Petron coach. “We have no choice but to fight back, point after point, set after set.”

“We came into the match with a mindset that we have nothing to lose,” F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus said after getting a combined 45 points from imports Lindsay Stalzer and Maria Jose Perez.

“But our imports wanted it more. They were very hungry to win against a very strong and talented team like Petron,” De Jesus said.
