MANILA, Philippines—St. Clare College Virtual Reality survived a rugged constest against McDavid, 93-82, and stopped its two-game skid in the 2019 PBA D-League Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Saints big man Mohammed Pare finished with 16 points while Darwin Lunor had 13 points in a big first half push that led St. Clare to a 59-44 halftime lead after traiing 26-25 in the second quarter.
Pare finished with a game-high 22 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks while Lunor had his own double-double of 19 points and 11 boards.
Junjie Hallare also finished in double figures for the Saints with 13 points while also giving St. Clare its biggest lead of the game at 23, 70-47, midway through the third quarter.
St. Clare improved to 5-2 and stayed on course for a top four spot in the Aspirants Group.
“We’ll just continue to do our jobs because we’re stil not sure if we can make it into the next round,” said Saints head coach Jinino Manansala. “There are still a lot of things that can happen.”
Ryusei Koga led McDavid with 19 points while Harold Arboleda had 16 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in the losing effort as they dropped to a 1-7 card.
