YANGON—Ceres-Negros star Stephan Schrock feels his club is poised for a deeper run in the AFC Cup after the Busmen punched their ticket to the KO stage with a game to spare.
Armed with more experience from previous campaigns, the Busmen qualified as the top team in Group G, which was considered as the toughest group in the Asean zone.
But Schrock has noticed more positive changes in the way the team has played this year after losing in the Asean zonal final last year to Home United of Singapore.
“I think we’re more composed in the way we play,” said Schrock. “It’s more on picking and choosing what to do with the situations.”
It will mark the fourth straight season that Ceres will appear in the knockout phase of the competition—a historic feat for a Philippine club.
“It shows how well the club is organized and is functioning. All of us can be very proud,” said Schrock.
