MANILA, Philippines—Collin Sexton, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ rising star, was among the packed crowd in Game 7 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel Beer and Magnolia at Araneta Coliseum Wednesday night.
Sexton, who was the eighth pick by the Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Draft, is in Manila for the Jr. NBA Philippines national training camp.
The 20-year-old Sexton’s promising rookie season was one of the few bright spots for the Cavaliers, who finished tied with the Phoenix Suns for the second-worst record at 19-63 in their first year since LeBron James’ move to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 16.7 points on 40 percent shooting from the three-point area, 2.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists in his maiden NBA season.
Aside from Sexton, WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro is also in town for the Jr. NBA Philippines.
Game 7 saw a crowd of 12,871.
