NBA rookie Collin Sexton and WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro said mentors play a key role in the fulfillment of basketball dreams.

“When I was their age, I really didn’t have any female athletes to look up to except my mom. I had to look up to basketball players who were males—
Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd,” said Penicheiro, a future Hall of Famer who made her name with the Sacramento Monarchs.

The pair will have a chance to be a mentor to many youth players aged 13 to 14 when the Jr. NBA Philippines unfolds on Saturday, at Don Bosco in Makati.
