MANILA, Philippines—Scalpers have found a new avenue to illegally sell their tickets: Twitter.
Using the hashtag #UAAPtickets, scalpers are holding bidding wars for tickets for Game 3 of the UAAP women’s volleyball finals between University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo on Saturday.
A Twitter user going by @UAAPTicketsG3 held a bidding war for a total of 11 patron tickets with five on the UST side and six on Ateneo’s worth P20,000 each.

@UAAPTicketsG3 even promised more patron and lower box tickets and he wasn’t the only one.

While there Twitter users who were selling their extra tickets for the same price, there were simply others who couldn’t help but take advantage of the crazy demand for tickets to the UAAP decider.
“Checked out the hashtag (#UAAPTickets), and I found out it’s full of scalpers,” said Gretchen Ho, a former middle blocker for Ateneo, in Filipino. “Friends, let’s not take advantage of the situation.”

UST also sold tickets this morning but they were immediately sold out.
Game 3 is at Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.
