5 killed in cargo truck collision in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines—At least five people were killed while three others were injured when a fish hauler collided with another truck in Polunoling in Tupi, South Cotabato, early Friday, one of the survivors told a local radio station in an interview.

Bonifacio Bonita said he and two companions were on the fish carrier,  driven by Nestor Lambayan, headed for General Santos City.

He said Lambayan was killed on the impact while four people on the other cargo truck, whose identities were still being determined, were killed.

Bonita said he and his two  companions were rushed to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
