Maroons, Falcons seek to extend runs

After earning tough wins the last time out, University of the Philippines and Adamson University look to extend their respective winning streaks against different foes Monday in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.

The Fighting Maroons, holding a 3-2 record, battle a Mapua side that will try to cling on to dear playoff life in the 2:30 p.m. contest at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Soaring Falcons, meanwhile, face off with the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers in the 4:15 p.m. game. JRU is also trying to fan its fading quarterfinal hopes.

UP got a huge games from point guard Jun Manzo, forward James Spencer, and center Bright Akhuetie on Saturday in a 68-62 nipping of Centro Escolar University.

Adamson impressively dispatched Letran, 89-85, to tie Lyceum of the Philippines University in second place of Group B, which the Knights still lead at 4-2.
