MANILA, Philippines—Cignal-Ateneo bucked a slow start to beat Chadao-Far Eastern University, 67-60, and enter the 2019 PBA D-League semifinals Monday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Blue Eagles rallied from 11 points down in the second quarter behind Angelo Kouame and Thirdy Ravena.
“Our mentality was to take it possesion by possesion,” said Ateneo deputy Sandy Arespacochaga of their fightback.
Kouame and Ravena led the Eagles’ 21-7 run bridging the second and third quarter.
Kouami notched a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds while Ravena collected 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Ateneo will face the winner between Che’Lu Bar and Grill and Valencia City-San Sebastian in the semis.
