Jeron Teng fired 20 points and Chris Banchero added 17 as Alaska dumped NLEX, 100-87, in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Wednesday night at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Aces thus, evened their record to 2-2 while keeping the Road Warriors winless.
Tony Mitchell, whose debut had been held up by documentation woes, finally suited up for the Road Warriors and finished with 34 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Alaska extended a slim 55-52 edge midway through the third quarter thanks to a 19-6 run capped by a three-point play by Teng to end the period.
Teng also grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out four assists while import Chris Daniels had 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Deputy Jojo Lastimosa filled in for NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao, who will be out for two more games to take a “much-needed rest,” the Road Warriors announced on their Twitter account.

Poy Erram had 16 points and 12 rebounds for NLEX, which shot just 36 percent from the field and turned the ball over 19 times.
