Lady Troopers, Perlas Spikers log victories

PacificTown-Army and BanKo Perlas encountered little challenge Saturday night in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The veteran Lady Troopers brandished a reliable weapon in Lena Lymareva-Flink, who fired 22 points in a 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21 win over the debuting Motolite Spikers.

Earlier, the Perlas Spikers hammered out a 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16 triumph over the BaliPure Water Defenders.

It was a morale-restoring win for PacificTown-Army, which fell to Creamline last Wednesday after returning to the league on a triumphant note with a victory over BaliPure in the opening game.

Motolite, meanwhile, missed the services of top player Myla Pablo reportedly due to a recurring injury.

In authoring BaliPure’s second straight defeat, BanKo Perlas proved that it has already found chemistry among the locals and foreign players.

“We realized that we need to help each other and get everybody involved,” said Kathy Bersola, who had 15 points.

Lakia Bright topscored with 16 points, while Nicole Tiamzon (13) and Yasemin Yildirin (11) also came through for BanKo.
