Ateneo Blue Eagles, San Beda Red Lions join PSA honorees
MANILA, Philippines—Two varsity champions and four other achievers in three sporting events join the Southeast Asian Games gold medalists set to receive special citations in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Awards Night on March 3.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles, who captured a record fourth straight UAAP crown, and back-to-back NCAA titlist San Beda Red Lions will be feted in the gathering of 2011’s top sports personalities at the Manila Hotel.
Triathlon veteran Lea Coline Langit, Grandmaster Julio Catalino Sadorra and 6th Asean Para Games gold medalists Josephine Medina and Ernie Gawilan will also get distinctions in the gala night where boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr. and world no. 1 billiards player Dennis Orcollo will receive the Athletes of the Year honor.

Langit clinched the gold in the Asian Aquathlon event of the Mekong River Multi-Sports Festival in Thailand.
Sadorra also shone when he emerged as the country’s latest Grandmaster after the UT Dallas Spring Invitational GM tournament in North Dallas, Texas.
